Derrick is a seasoned HR and business operations professional with over 20 years of experience helping startups, SMEs, and multinational organizations build stronger workplaces and high-performing teams.
Holding an MBA specializing in Human Resource Management, Derrick’s research explored the evolving nature of human needs and motivation through his thesis, “Augmenting Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs: A Cross-Group Study of Human Needs in Klang Valley.” This academic foundation complements his practical experience in developing people strategies that drive both employee well-being and business performance.
Throughout his career, Derrick has led HR transformation initiatives, built HR functions from the ground up, implemented digital HR systems, and supported organizations through growth, restructuring, and operational change. His unique blend of HR expertise and business operations experience enables him to deliver practical, commercially focused solutions that align people strategy with organizational objectives.
An Associate Member of MIHRM and a contributor to multiple award-winning workplace initiatives, Derrick is passionate about helping people and organizations grow together. He believes that sustainable business success is built on strong leadership, engaged employees, and effective people practices.
